The party had committed to regularise 1.25 lakh employees working under the Haryana Kaushal Nigam.

Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has lashed out at the BJP-led state government, accusing it of betrayal and breaking promises made to workers employed under the Kaushal Nigam. Hooda alleged that despite getting into power the third time, the BJP has not given up its “old habit” of misleading people and is now terminating the services of Kaushal Nigam employees.

Hooda said the BJP had committed to regularising all 1.25 lakh employees working under the Haryana Kaushal Nigam. The former Haryana chief minister further said “Not only this, the BJP had also spread lies against the Congress during the election. It had said that if Congress comes to power, it will end the Skill Corporation and throw all temporary employees out of jobs. The truth is that Congress had promised in its manifesto to regularize all Kushal Nigam employees and give them proper salary, but the skilled workers got misled by the BJP and voted for it and made it form the government.”

“But as soon as the elections were over, the BJP's lies were exposed before everyone. Going back on its promise, the BJP started sacking the Kaushal Nigam workers as soon as it formed the government. The government has started retrenching Kaushal Nigam workers from every department one by one. Due to this, unemployed youth are forced to take to the streets and protest,” he added.

“Today, all temporary workers are living under the threat of losing their jobs. The workers who are barely surviving on temporary jobs and minimum wages, are now facing a livelihood crisis. More than 2 lakh posts are lying vacant in the government departments of the state. Haryana has become number one in terms of unemployment, crime and drug addiction,” Hooda said.

Hooda criticised the BJP for failing to deliver on its promise of providing two lakh permanent jobs, stating that the government has not yet finalised the rules or announced the date for the Common Eligibility Test (CET).

“Lakhs of unemployed youth who are becoming over-age in the wait for recruitments, are constantly waiting for CET and new recruitments, but as usual, the BJP government is only giving date after date,” he stated
