Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson and BJP leader Darakshan Andrabi stated on Sunday that “enemies of the country” are attempting to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir, citing the recent killing of two Village Defence Guards (VDGs) in Kishtwar.
Andrabi condemned the attack, calling it “a matter of great concern” and described it as “the enemy's trick to destabilise the prevailing peace in the region.”
“They are not liking the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. That is the reason they are trying to create chaos here again,” Andrabi told mediapersons.
BJP leader Ravinder Raina met the families of the two VDG members, Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, who were killed by militants on Thursday in Kishtwar's Kuntwara area. Raina condemned the attack, stating, “Coward Pakistani terrorists have killed humanity with barbarism, and they will have to pay a heavy price for this.”
Security forces, including CRPF and J&K police, are conducting search operations to locate the terrorists and their associates, while leaders like Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha have pledged support to the victims’ families.
The bodies of Ahmed and Kumar, who were reportedly abducted and killed while grazing cattle in the Kishtwar forests, were recovered on Friday after a search operation by security forces.
Chief Minister Sinha condemned the violence, and Abdullah urged security forces to prevent further such attacks, with Sinha vowing to dismantle the terrorist network in the region.
