In its first list of candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has renominated three sitting MLAs from Pune city: Madhuri Misal from Parvati, state minister Chandrakant Patil from Kothrud, and Siddharth Shirole from Shivajinagar.

In Pimpri-Chinchwad, the BJP has once again supported two-time MLA Mahesh Landge for the Bhosari assembly seat while awarding a ticket to Shankar Jagtap for the Chinchwad constituency.

Shankar Jagtap, the Pimpri-Chinchwad BJP unit chief, is the brother-in-law of sitting MLA Ashwini Jagtap.

The BJP's first list comprises 99 candidates and includes 71 sitting MLAs, with only three dropped.

Among those featured are Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, and ministers Girish Mahajan and Sudhir Mungantiwar. The list also features 13 women candidates.

The BJP has fielded relatives of some regional leaders, including Ashok Chavan's daughter, who recently transitioned from Congress to the BJP.
