Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai believes the BJP will win the upcoming local body elections due to the development work carried out by the state government. The elections for 173 urban local bodies are set to take place soon.

Sai expressed confidence about the BJP's prospects, stating, "The results will be very good. We saw success in the 2023 assembly elections, Lok Sabha elections, and last year's Raipur City South bypoll. We will achieve the same success in the civic body elections."

He added that the state government had launched over Rs 7,000 crore worth of development projects in urban areas in the past year. "We visited municipal corporations to understand the issues. The citizens will support BJP in both urban body and Panchayat elections," he said.

The elections for 173 urban local bodies, which include 10 municipal corporations, 49 municipal councils, and 114 nagar panchayats, will take place on February 11. Voting results will be counted on February 15. The three-phase panchayat elections will follow on February 17, 20, and 23.

Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' programme, Sai praised it as an excellent initiative to help students relieve exam stress. "The interaction helps students overcome exam-related fears," he said, after watching the broadcast in Raipur.

Sai also shared a personal story about his student life, recalling how he had to take on family responsibilities at a young age after his father's death. He never considered pursuing a government job or politics back then.

"I thought the education I had was enough to manage farming," he said, adding that he focused on settling his brothers and ensuring they received a good education.

"Serving Chhattisgarh was my destiny, and it was God's wish for me to have this opportunity," he concluded.
