On Monday morning, several schools in the national capital received bomb threats, prompting immediate evacuations and large-scale security checks. In recent months, Delhi's educational institutions have been beset by a number of similar incidents, this being the most recent.
According to official sources schools such as Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Modern Convent School, and Shree Ram World School in Sector 10, Dwarka, were notified of the threats. A prompt and well-coordinated emergency response resulted from the threats being sent via email.
School administrators quickly started evacuation procedures after receiving the alerts, working with local authorities. To ensure their safety while security checks started, staff and students were relocated to secure gathering places outside the school buildings. Prominent schools, such as Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Modern Convent School, and ShreeRam World School in Sector 10, Dwarka, were notified of the threats, according to official sources. The teams are currently conducting thorough searches of the premises to verify the credibility of the threats.
A Delhi Police officer confirmed the ongoing operations, “All students and staff have been evacuated as a precautionary measure. Search operations are underway.”
This incident is not an isolated one. It follows a concerning trend of similar hoax threats that have targeted Delhi schools and colleges. On July 18, a single morning saw over 50 schools, including St Xavier’s in Civil Lines, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, Abhinav Public School in Rohini, and The Sovereign School in Rohini, receive bomb threat emails.
Earlier in July, threats were also reported at St Stephen’s College and St Thomas School in Dwarka. This occurred just a day after three other schools had received similar hoax messages. In total, at least seven schools were targeted on July 17, marking the third consecutive day of such incidents.
Police investigations into a previous hoax email led them to a 12-year-old boy in south Delhi. He was found to have sent the message as a prank. After being questioned and counselled, he was sent home.

While all past threats have been confirmed as hoaxes, the repeated nature of these incidents has caused significant alarm among parents and school authorities. The constant disruptions and the psychological toll on children, teachers, and families have led to public criticism of the government's handling of the situation.
Former Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi voiced her concerns last month, highlighting the emotional distress caused by the threats. She also pointed a finger at the central and civic administrations, which are under the control of the BJP.
“Think of the trauma that children, parents and teachers would be going through. BJP controls all four engines of governance in Delhi, and is yet not able to provide any safety or security to our children! Shocking!”
Officials have stated that, despite the history of hoaxes, precautionary evacuations will remain the standard response until each threat is fully verified. The current investigation is focused on tracing the source of Monday’s email threats. The authorities are determined to identify and hold accountable those responsible for these disruptive and distressing acts.
