Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor continues his 'fast-unto-death,' now on its 12th day, to highlight alleged irregularities in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) held on December 13.
Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has urged Prashant Kishor to end his hunger strike and asked him to send a student delegation for discussions.
According to Jan Suraaj Party officials, Kishor is meeting with student representatives today at his residence in Sheikhpura. Kishor, aged 47, was hospitalised in Patna last week after his health deteriorated during the protest.
He spent a day in the ICU before being shifted to a general ward.
Following improvement in his condition, he was discharged, but his party confirmed that the hunger strike would continue. Earlier, Kishor was briefly arrested for staging a protest at a prohibited site.
Governor's intervention
A seven-member delegation from the Jan Suraaj Party, led by working president Manoj Bharti, met Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at the Raj Bhavan.
The governor expressed concern over Kishor’s prolonged hunger strike and assured them that he would discuss the issue with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to resolve the matter.

Jan Suraaj party's demand
Kishor and his party have demanded transparency and accountability in the BPSC exams, voicing support for students affected by the alleged irregularities.
The governor’s intervention is seen as a positive step, but the hunger strike continues until concrete action is taken.
This development has put a spotlight on the issue, with students and citizens closely watching how the state government and BPSC respond to these demands.
