Security forces on Friday recovered a large cache of warlike stores in the Tee Pee forest area of Kralpora in North Kashmir’s Kupwara, officials said.
They said that based on specific intelligence input, the BSF, Army, and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel launched an extensive cordon and search operation in the TEE PEE forest area, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kralpora, Kupwara, from January 7-9.
They said that during searches, a large cache of war-like stores was also recovered, which included 1 pistol, 1 magazine, 8 rounds, 5 grenades, & 270 rounds of AK-47.
Earlier on Thursday, security forces said that in a joint operation, one person was arrested with arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The man was arrested on Wednesday and warlike stores were recovered from his possession, said officials here.
Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Army said on X, “On 8 January 2025, based on specific intelligence input, a joint CASO was launched by the Indian Army and Police at Thokarpura Mohallah, Qaimoh, Kulgam.
During the search, one suspected individual has been apprehended along with the recovery of 01xAK rifles, 04xAK magazines, 120xAK rounds, 02xHand Grenades, and other warlike stores.” Further investigation by police was in progress, said the officials.
