Of the total sanctioned amount, ₹588.73 crore has been allocated to Bihar, ₹136.22 crore to Himachal Pradesh, ₹522.34 crore to Tamil Nadu, and ₹33.06 crore to Puducherry. These funds are intended to aid recovery in areas impacted by various natural disasters during the year.
In the financial year 2024-25, the Central government had already disbursed ₹20,264.40 crore to 28 states under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and ₹5,160.76 crore under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to 19 states.
The newly approved assistance is in addition to these allocations and is over and above the funds already provided to the states and Union territories under the SDRF and the Union Territorial Disaster Response Fund, according to official sources.
