The Centre has sanctioned a ₹417 crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Gautam Buddha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, an official release stated on Wednesday. The cluster would help support manufacturing in core segments of consumer electronics, automotive and industrial electronics, medical devices, computer hardware, and communication equipment.
Startups and MSMEs would be able to avail plug-and-play infrastructure and common facilities that comprise standard factory sheds, power, water supply, sewage, hostels, skill development centres, health centres and so on.
The EMC will be encircled by strategic industrial areas including the Medical Device Park, MSME and Apparel Park, and the Aviation Hub, the statement added.

The EMC 2.0 project, approved for Uttar Pradesh, will be constructed by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The cluster will cover an area of 200 acres and is likely to draw an investment of ₹2,500 crore.
"It is fully in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting manufacturing in India. It reflects the government’s sharp focus on job creation and building a Viksit Bharat," Vaishnaw said. There are approximately 22 EMCs that are being implemented and have been funded by 520 companies and created more than 86,000 jobs. Approximately ₹30,000 crore has been invested in the EMC projects, as per the statement.
