Punjabi singer and actor Hardy Sandhu was detained by Chandigarh police on Saturday just moments before his scheduled performance at a fashion show at the Sector 34 exhibition ground in Chandigarh.
The incident occurred when Sandhu was preparing for a sound check ahead of his performance, which was set to begin at 6:30 pm.
Police officials arrived at the scene and instructed Sandhu and the event organizers to provide separate permission for the live performance. The situation quickly escalated as a large crowd gathered, prompting the authorities to take Sandhu to the Sector 34 police station for further questioning.

The event organisers provided the necessary permissions required for the show, and after a brief detention, Sandhu was released from the police station. However, the incident left the singer frustrated, and he abruptly left Chandigarh, returning to Mumbai without performing at the event.
Reports suggest that Sandhu is considering taking up the matter with higher authorities, claiming that his detention was illegal and unjustified.
