In a disturbing incident, a Class 9 student was shot dead allegedly by his classmate in Hisar’s Satrod Cantonment area on Thursday morning. Dikshit, a resident of Mastnath Colony, had gone out on his scooter to buy milk when he received a phone call from a classmate. According to police, the classmate lured him to a secluded area near the railway tracks, hidden by thick bushes.
Once there, the accused allegedly opened fire, hitting Dikshit twice in the abdomen. Local residents, who heard the gunshots, rushed to the scene and took him to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have launched an investigation and called a forensic team to examine the crime scene. Several bullet shells were recovered, and CCTV footage from the vicinity is being reviewed.
The victim’s father, retired Indian Army personnel, is currently working as a bank security guard. The authorities are probing the motive behind the shocking crime and efforts are on to trace the accused.
