Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed profound pride and respect for two courageous sons of Himachal Pradesh who were posthumously honored with the prestigious Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Thursday evening.

 

He stated that these awards are a testament to the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the people of Himachal Pradesh.

 

Gunner Nayak Dilwar Khan (28) from Gharwasda village in Una district and Havildar Rohit Kumar Negi (23) from Taranda village in Kinnaur district were bestowed these posthumous honors in recognition of their supreme sacrifices while serving the nation.

 

The Chief Minister said the entire state stands united in paying homage to these martyrs. He emphasised that Himachal Pradesh, known as the "Veer Bhoomi" (Land of the Brave), has a proud legacy of soldiers who have consistently defended the nation’s borders.

 

He added that the valor and dedication of these heroes serve as an inspiration to not only the youth of Himachal Pradesh but the entire country. This national-level recognition is a moment of immense pride for every Himachali.
