There was no relief from the cold in Haryana, as Hisar recorded a minimum temperature of 0.5°C, which is six degrees below normal, the meteorological department said on Wednesday.
In many parts of Haryana and neighbouring Punjab, dense fog reduced visibility during the morning hours, according to the department.
As per weather data, Narnaul in Haryana recorded a low of 1°C, while Bhiwani registered a minimum temperature of 1.2°C.
Gurugram recorded a minimum temperature of 3.5°C, Ambala 4.9°C, Karnal 3.6°C, Faridabad 4.3°C and Rohtak 3.6°C. These temperatures were up to five degrees below the seasonal average.
In Punjab, the mercury dipped to 3.2°C in Bathinda and Faridkot, the weather department said.
Gurdaspur recorded a low of 3.5°C, Amritsar 4.3°C, Ludhiana 5.4°C, Patiala 4.4°C, Hoshiarpur 5.6°C and Mansa 5.4°C. These readings were up to four degrees below normal.
Chandigarh, the shared capital of Haryana and Punjab, recorded a minimum temperature of 3.8°C on Wednesday, which was three degrees below normal.
The city experienced its coldest night of the season on Tuesday, when the temperature dropped to 2.8°C.
