The Congress walked out of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha as soon as Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini began his response to the Governor’s address during the Budget Session.
Saini started his speech by greeting the members on Holi and mentioned that exactly a year ago, he took the oath as Chief Minister. He said that since then, Haryana had been in election mode. He also stated that while the government had achieved a lot in the past 10 years, he would focus only on the accomplishments of the last year.
As he began listing the government’s achievements, including providing 26,000 jobs, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda interrupted him and questioned how long these jobs had been pending.
Hooda accused Saini of not addressing the Governor’s speech and instead using the time to highlight the government's achievements.
This led to a brief exchange between Congress members and the ruling party before the Congress staged a walkout in protest. Later, speaking to the media, Hooda, along with other Congress MLAs, said that the government had nothing meaningful to say about the Governor’s address.
