A disturbing incident in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district has come to light, where a young couple was harassed and assaulted by a group of individuals. The perpetrators caught the couple in a private moment, extorted money from them, and molested the woman.
A video of the incident, which has gone viral, shows the couple in a secluded rocky area near the forested regions of Purva Falls or Kyoti Falls when they were confronted by the group. The footage reveals the aggressors threatening and humiliating the couple.
The Rewa police have launched a thorough investigation. The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rewa stated, “We are actively searching for the victims and urge them to come forward. We assure them that their identities will be protected, and strict action will be taken against the accused.”
Police teams from stations in Semaria, Sirmour, Baikunthpur, and Garh have been mobilised to locate the victims and the offenders.

This incident follows another horrific case reported in October in the Rewa district. In that case, a couple was attacked near a temple. The husband was tied to a tree, and the wife was gang-raped. The assailants recorded the assault and threatened to release the video if the victims approached the authorities.
Such incidents highlight the urgent need for stronger measures to ensure the safety and dignity of individuals in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in remote areas like Rewa’s forested regions. Authorities are working to bring the culprits to justice and prevent similar crimes in the future.
