A family of five was found dead in Hyderabad, Telangana, at their rented house on Thursday morning, said the police, while suspecting a suicide pact due to financial constraints.
The family originally was from the Kalaburagi district of neighbouring Karnataka, and had been living in Hyderabad since 2019. The family had been residing in the Maqtha area for the last two years, where their dead bodies were found.
The deceased have been identified as — a 60-year-old man, his 55-year-old wife, son-in-law, daughter, and two-year-old granddaughter — they said.
Based on preliminary investigation, the official said it seems the man had taken loans and was facing financial problems.
Neighbours alerted the police about the incident on Thursday morning, and a team from Miyapur police station reached the spot. They are suspected to have taken some poisonous substance and died by suicide, said a senior official. The bodies were shifted to a hospital.
