Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena ordered an investigation into accusations from AAP leaders that the BJP tried to bribe AAP candidates to switch sides. The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has already visited AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal's home as part of the probe.
The investigation came just a day before the vote counting for the Delhi Assembly elections, which took place on February 5.
The AAP has accused the BJP of offering money to its MLAs in exchange for leaving the party and joining the BJP. The Lieutenant Governor said this matter needs a full investigation by the ACB to find out the truth.
This decision followed a complaint by Delhi BJP leader Vishnu Mittal to the Lieutenant Governor's office. Mittal said that the allegations by Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh were serious but lacked evidence, such as phone records or names of those involved. He asked for an official investigation and an FIR to be filed.

On Thursday, Kejriwal claimed that the BJP had tried to bribe 16 AAP candidates before the Delhi Assembly election results. He said that the BJP promised each candidate Rs 15 crore and ministerial positions if they joined the BJP.
Similar accusations came from AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh. AAP candidate Mukesh Ahlawat and sitting MLA Vinay Mishra also said they were offered money and positions by the BJP to switch sides.
The votes for the 70-seat Delhi Assembly were cast on February 5, with the results due to be announced on Saturday. The outcome will decide if the AAP will continue its rule for a third term or if the BJP will take control after 27 years.
