Hailing from Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, Uday Krishna Reddy, who was a former Telugu police constable, has secured 780th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023.

Reddy, who served as a police constable from 2013 to 2018, was humiliated by a circle inspector in front of 60 policemen, owing to some personal grudge that the inspector had on him.

He resigned that very day and decided to prepare for Union Public Service Commission with an aim to become an IAS officer.

Reddy has been assigned to Indian Revenue Service after cracking 2023 UPSC examination. However, he wishes to continue with the preparation until he gets selected for the Indian Administrative Service.

The inspiring story of the former constable comes as a learning lesson for those who want to appear for the UPSC. Hard work and resilience can go a long a way in achieving one's dreams.
