Delhi Police reported that a student from South Asian University (SAU) was allegedly sexually assaulted, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in connection with the incident on Tuesday.
The police did not disclose specific details about the assault. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan, a Police Control Room (PCR) call regarding the incident was received at the Maidan Garhi police station around 3 pm on Monday.
Following the call, a police team was dispatched to the university campus. The call was made by someone known to the victim, who is currently receiving counselling, Chauhan stated in an official statement. He further noted, “Based on the statement of the victim, an FIR has been registered under appropriate sections.
The matter is being investigated with due sensitivity and priority.” The investigation is ongoing, with authorities prioritising the case while handling it with care.
