An FIR has been filed against popular rapper and singer Badshah at the Qila Lal Singh police station in Batala district following a complaint by the Global Christian Action Committee, alleging that his song Velvet Flow contains references that hurt the religious sentiments of the Christian community.
According to the committee’s national president, Jatinder Masih, the lyrics of the song allegedly misuse words related to the Bible and the church in a disrespectful context. This has deeply offended members of the Christian community, Masih said.
The committee has demanded the immediate arrest of the artist, claiming that this is not the first time religious references have been misused in songs. In the past too, there have been instances where Christian and other religious symbols have been used inappropriately in music, which is completely unacceptable, he further added.
