Atleast five Pakistani militants were killed in a landmine blast along the line of control, in the Battal sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district here on Friday, reports said.
Official sources said the incident took place when one of the militants, who was trying to infiltrate the Indian side from Pakistan accidentally stepped on a landmine triggering a massive blast.
The explosion resulted in the immediate death of infiltrators, sources said. Additionally, the militants were also carrying an IED which also exploded.

Security forces have initiated searches in the area and further details are awaited, officials added.
Sources said that as part of an anti-infiltration obstacle system, the forward areas on the Indian side are dotted with landmines at various places, especially known infiltration routes.
These landmines sometimes get drifted away by the rain, an official added.
