Girl’s body found in suitcase near Bengaluru railway tracks

A preliminary inspection has been completed by the Suryanagar police and Baiyappanahalli railway police are expected to take over once they arrive. A detailed investigation will follow after the suitcase is examined.

The body of an unidentified girl was found inside a suitcase near railway tracks of southern Bengaluru. The suitcase has been discovered today and it is believed that the girl must be 18 years old.

 

Initial reports suggest that the body was placed in the suitcase elsewhere and then thrown from a moving train. The suitcase was spotted near the railway tracks close to Hosur main road, old Chandapura railway bridge.

 

A preliminary inspection has been completed by the Suryanagar police and Baiyappanahalli railway police are expected to take over once they arrive. A detailed investigation will follow after the suitcase is examined.

 

Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police CK Baba,, said, "It appears that the suitcase was thrown from a moving train. Normally, such cases fall under railway police jurisdiction, but since it relates to our area, we are involved. The victim’s identity is yet to be confirmed as there no ID or belongings found have been found.”

Investidations is underway to identify the girl and determine the circumstances surrounding the case.

 

In another incident, the body of a 14-year-old tribal girl, who was deaf and mute, was found near railway tracks in Karnataka’s Ramanagara on May 12, 2024.

 

"The police have registered a case. We will not interfere in the investigation. Let the police probe all angles, whether it is vengeance, an affair, rape, or anything else. It's our duty to ensure justice,” said Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who visited the grieving family in Bhadrapura village.
