The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached shops worth over ₹5 crore in a mall in Sonipat, Haryana, as part of a money-laundering probe against TDI Infrastructure Limited, a company accused of violating environmental regulations in its residential township projects.
The ED stated that eight commercial spaces located in TDI Mall on GT Road, Kundli, had been provisionally attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). These immovable properties have a combined value of ₹5.61 crore.
The money-laundering case originates from three criminal complaints filed in August 2020 by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board before a special environment court in Kurukshetra.
The complaints were against TDI Infrastructure and its directors—Ravinder Kumar Taneja, Kamal Taneja, and Devki Nandan Taneja—alleging violations of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act.
The violations pertain to the company's developed residential townships, including Kingsbury Apartments, My Floor 2, and Tuscan City in Kundli.
The ED alleged that the company was legally required to install sewage treatment plants (STPs) for treating domestic wastewater and obtain necessary approvals from the pollution control board.

However, instead of complying with these environmental norms, the company allegedly collected untreated sewage water in a cemented collection tank and disposed of it using tankers on open land, leading to severe environmental damage and health hazards.
The agency further stated that by violating the mandatory provisions of the environmental laws, TDI Infrastructure generated illicit proceeds amounting to ₹5.61 crore, which it continued to retain for its benefit.
The ED's action aims to target these proceeds of crime under the provisions of the PMLA. The company or its directors have not yet responded to the ED’s allegations.
