The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has announced the launch of a six-day movement, “Hamari Riyasat – Hamara Haq”, from March 24 to push for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
The Congress had earlier organised a 15-day Union Territory-wide demonstration demanding the early restoration of statehood.
“We will intensify the movement for the early restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. In this regard, we will launch the six-day ‘Hamari Riyasat – Hamara Haq’ movement in Jammu city from March 24,” JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra said.
Karra, who chaired a meeting to review preparations, stated that the movement will include evening marches from different locations across the region in a phased manner.
Alongside this campaign, the JKPCC will also carry forward the AICC Abhiyan – ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan’, reaffirming its commitment to statehood, which Karra described as "the right and demand of every citizen in Jammu and Kashmir."

“The movement will also bring forth the issues faced by the common people in their daily lives and seek their redressal from the administration accordingly,” he added.
Additionally, Congress leaders decided to intensify the statehood movement while also raising concerns over what they termed as misgovernance by the BJP-led central government, aided by the Lieutenant Governor’s administration over the past decade.
The party blamed the administration for causing numerous hardships to the people of J&K.
The Congress will also highlight the grievances of daily wagers demanding regularisation, as well as issues such as high electricity bills and disconnection of services for economically weaker sections.
The meeting further stressed the need for an amnesty scheme to provide relief to affected residents, a measure that has been previously referenced by the Chief Minister
