Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said the state Cabinet has decided to start the Monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha from August 22. The final duration of the session will be decided by the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly.
Saini said that over the last 11 years, both the Centre and the state government have been running welfare schemes focused on helping the poor. He said the current government aims to empower the underprivileged, unlike previous Congress governments, which he claimed created schemes mainly for the wealthy.
He also stressed the government’s strong focus on maintaining law and order in the state. Police officers have been told to act immediately and take strict steps to deal with criminal elements.
Saini responded to opposition criticism about rising crime, saying the Congress is only spreading misinformation. He added that while Congress attacks the BJP government in Haryana, it stays quiet on issues in Congress-ruled states like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana.
Saini called the Congress’ election promises "poll gimmicks" and said the BJP is committed to fulfilling what it promises. He also claimed that the current government is carrying out development work three times faster than before, without favouring any region.
Talking about women’s welfare, Saini said a plan is being finalised to launch the ‘Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, which will provide ₹2,100 as financial aid to women. A dedicated portal for the scheme will be launched soon.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi said a draft policy for the scheme has already been sent to the chief minister’s office. Once approved, the scheme will be rolled out shortly.
