Crisis for Sukhu led government deepened in Himachal Pradesh as PWD and Urban Development Minister, Vikramaditya Singh today announced his resignation from the cabinet because of the present situation, which he said, has erupted due to gross mismanagement in the name of 'Vyavastha Parivartan' and said the Congress MLAs were ignored badly.
Talking to media persons here, he said he would submit his resignation to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.
Vikramaditya Singh, getting emotional during his press conference, said with a choked voice that the present Congress government did not show any respect for his father and six-time former CM, the late Virbhadra Singh, although the Congress made it to power using his name this time as well.
"The present government did not spare even a small chunk of land for erecting the statue of Virbhadra Singh ( as a mark of respect to his contribution to Himachal) on the Ridge. I took up the matter with the party high command also, but nothing happened," he said.
He said he had stood with the party even in a situation like yesterday in the Rajya Sabha poll. "The cabinet berth does not matter to me. I am an emotional person and want to stay connected with the people," he said.
Meanwhile, 15 BJP MLAs, including the leader of the opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, were suspended from the State Assembly with a voice vote and the session was adjourned after this till 12. The BJP MLAs raised loud slogans in the House over their suspension.
