At least six have been charged by the Panchkula police, including a woman, in connection with a honey trap scheme aimed at extorting ₹50 lakh. The case stems from previous allegations made by the woman, who had accused state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli and singer Jai Bhagwan, also known as Rocky Mittal, of rape.

According to a complaint filed by Jai Bhagwan Mittal, a former chairman of the Haryana Government’s publicity cell, the woman and her accomplice, Mehak, attempted to extort ₹50 lakh from him. The incident began on September 9, 2024, when the two women allegedly threatened to falsely implicate both Mittal and state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli in a fabricated case unless their financial demands were met.

Mittal reported that the women pressured him to arrange a meeting with Badoli and demanded a substantial sum. When he refused, the threats escalated. Mittal eventually approached the Haryana Director-General of Police on September 14 to report the extortion attempt.

On September 18, Mittal was reportedly confronted at his Panchkula residence by the group accusing him of taking money under the pretence of securing employment for them.

Besides the intervention by the police, the woman, who had initially approached Mittal, went on to file a sexual assault complaint against him and BJP leader Mohan Lal Badoli at Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh on December 8.

Mittal, in his statement, further alleged that the group was part of a larger network involved in blackmail using manipulated videos.

He claimed that on January 21 and 22, he received several phone calls from Mehak, one of the accused, who allegedly confessed that she and another individual, Amit Jindal, had masterminded the extortion attempt, and reportedly repeated the demand for ₹50 lakh to settle the Kasauli case and threatened Mittal further when he refused to comply.
