Himachal Pradesh BJP president, Dr Rajeev Bindal, on Monday said the Congress party had exposed itself by using the ‘vote chor’ slogan.
Talking to mediapersons here, he said the Congress actually came to power in Himachal Pradesh in 2022 by allegedly stealing votes.
"Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi loudly promised that the Congress government would provide one lakh jobs to the youth in their first cabinet meeting initially and five lakh jobs in total. They stole the votes of unemployed youth with this false promise," Bindal said.
The state BJP chief said the Congress party also cheated 28 lakh women in the state by promising Rs 1,500 per month and tried to capture their votes. He said the unemployed youth have not been given the promised jobs, and women have not received the Rs 1,500.
"The ‘vote chor’ slogan of the Congress party now hangs heavily over it, and the party is not able to show its face boldly in Himachal," he said. He said if the Election Commission had been impartial, the Congress would not have come to power.
"If the Congress CM and party president in HP claim that the Election Commission was biased, they should step down," Bindal said.
