The Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation has invited youth interested in working as bike-borne delivery persons in the United Arab Emirates to apply by November 22, officials said on Wednesday.

The corporation has shared basic job details and asked eligible candidates to submit applications before the deadline.

The selected candidates will have to deliver essential items, including food. They will receive a monthly salary of 2,500 dirhams, along with commissions and tips. Officials said the total monthly earnings could range between Rs 70,000 and Rs 1,00,000.

District Employment Officer Surendra Sharma said the corporation received the job notification for UAE openings through a recruitment representative — JSDC Group of Companies. He said the board is sharing this information so that interested youth can take advantage of the opportunity.

He said people aged between 20 and 37 years, who have passed class 10 and have basic knowledge of English, can apply. Candidates must also hold a valid driving licence and a passport, both with at least one year of validity remaining.

People with tattoos on their face or neck and those who are colour-blind will not be considered for the recruitment process.

He said the selected candidates will have to work 10 hours a day, six days a week. Their shifts will either be in the morning or evening. He added that even individuals who wear turbans will have to wear helmets on job.

A fee of Rs 35,400 will be taken from selected candidates according to the Ministry of External Affairs guidelines. Candidates will also need to pay for the UAE driving licence and other related charges.

Interested applicants should fill out the Google form shared by the department. They can also contact the office of the district employment officer for more details, Sharma added.

He also shared the link to the form and asked people to apply through it.
