Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district carried out the demolition of an "illegally" constructed house allegedly linked to a Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist handler on Saturday.
The Anantnag Police, in coordination with the District administration, executed the demolition at Rekha Hassanpora, removing the illegal structure and reclaiming encroached state land. The property was identified as belonging to Haroon Rashid Ganie, who has been accused of acting as a terror handler for the banned outfit LeT.
According to police officials, Ganie has been operating from Pakistan since 2018 and is suspected of orchestrating terror-related activities aimed at destabilizing national security and sovereignty.
The demolition is part of an ongoing effort by law enforcement agencies to dismantle terror networks and disrupt their support structures. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that no individual or group is allowed to misuse government land for unlawful activities.
The Anantnag Police reiterated their firm stance against terrorism, stating that stringent measures would continue against terror operatives and their facilitators.
The department emphasised its resolve to uphold law and order in the region, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to curb the influence and operations of banned terrorist organisations.
