The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday announced the results of the annual regular Class 12 examinations across the state and the Union Territory of Ladakh. The overall pass percentage was 84.02.
Officials said 70,735 students from the Kashmir division and winter zones of Jammu appeared in the examinations, out of which 59,435 candidates qualified. Girls have once again outperformed boys. While the pass percentage of boys stood at 82, for the girls it was 86. JKBOSE officials termed the overall performance satisfactory and congratulated the successful students.
Education Minister Sakina Itoo, a day before the results, on Tuesday, extended her best wishes to students of Classes 10th and 12th in Jammu and Kashmir. She also advised students and parents to exercise caution while checking results, urging them to rely only on official websites and avoid fake or misleading links circulating on social media.
In her message, the minister encouraged students to remain calm and confident, expressing hope that their hard work and dedication would translate into success.
“There is a proper procedure in place. Without the Chairman’s approval, the results cannot be finalised. However, the results are ready and will be announced in time, even earlier than last year,” the minister said.
JKBOSE Secretary Ghulam Hussain Sheikh also confirmed that the results were prepared and awaiting formal clearance.
“The only hurdle is the appointment of the Chairman. The government is actively working on it and the appointment is expected shortly,” he said.
