Following an encounter in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma stated on Monday that security forces are fully committed to eliminating the remaining terrorists in the region. 


He emphasised that the security forces would not rest until all threats had been neutralised, reaffirming their dedication to maintaining stability and safety in the area.


Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary also addressed the situation, asserting that any attempts to undermine India and the Union Territory would be futile. 


He stressed the importance of maintaining peace and unity, declaring that the bond of brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir remains strong and unwavering. Choudhary made it clear that any actions against national integrity would not be tolerated, underscoring the government’s commitment to countering any threats to security.


In response to the ongoing situation, security forces have launched a cordon and search operation in the Krumbhoora area of Zachaldara, located in Handwara District.

The encounter erupted between security personnel and terrorists in the Krumhoora-Zachaldara area of Handwara, which falls within the Kupwara district of the Kashmir valley. Security forces are actively engaged in the operation, working to contain the threat and ensure the safety of civilians.


The Jammu and Kashmir Police have also joined efforts to assist the security forces in their mission. The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the operation in a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, announcing that an encounter had commenced in the Krumhoora-Zachaldara area of Handwara. 


They assured the public that security personnel were actively addressing the situation, with further updates to follow as the operation unfolds. Authorities continue to monitor developments closely, and additional details regarding the encounter are awaited.
