The alleged irregularities and corruption in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) are likely to trigger intensified protests across the state, prompting the Jharkhand Police Special Branch to issue a statewide alert to district administrations and law enforcement agencies.
A confidential communication issued by the special branch has directed all deputy commissioners, senior superintendents of police, superintendents of police, railway police and other senior officials to remain vigilant and make adequate arrangements to maintain law and order.
The advisory follows reports that several student bodies and political organisations are planning demonstrations, including protest marches, dharnas, satyagraha programmes, hunger strikes and a proposed siege of the Jharkhand Assembly.
According to the intelligence report, an indefinite satyagraha has been underway since July 25 outside Bapu Vatika at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi.
The agitation is being organised under the banner of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Candidates Justice Forum. Around 50 to 60 aspirants, led by student leader Dinbandhu Mahato and JLKM leader Devendra Mahato, are participating in the protest.

The demonstrators are demanding a comprehensive probe into the alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, strict action against those found responsible for corruption, faster completion of recruitment processes and greater transparency in future appointments.
As part of the campaign, a foot march was taken out on July 29 from Bapu Vatika to Parmveer Albert Ekka Chowk. Participants also read out the Preamble to the Constitution and sang the National Anthem during the programme.
The Special Branch has further warned that the agitation may gather momentum if the government does not respond to the protesters' demands. According to the report, the organisers have announced plans to launch an indefinite hunger strike from August 2, while a large-scale gherao of the Jharkhand Assembly has been scheduled for August 6 during the Monsoon Session.
Authorities expect hundreds of candidates from different parts of the state to converge in Ranchi for the demonstration.
The intelligence inputs also suggest that several private coaching institutes may extend support to the movement.
With a significant number of students likely to travel to the state capital by road and rail, district administrations have been instructed to enhance surveillance, deploy adequate security personnel at sensitive locations and closely monitor developments to ensure that public order is maintained throughout the proposed protest programmes.
