Two extremists were killed in a shootout between two factions of extremist organisation People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
The incident took place between two factions of PLFI on the banks of the Phuljhari river in Bandgaon area of West Singhbhum district and Murhu border area of Khunti district on Tuesday.
After getting information about the shootout, a police team reached the spot and recovered the bodies of both the dead militants Parvel Sandi Purti and Aashiq Tanti from the spot and sent both the bodies for post-mortem.
During the search operation there, the police found a country-made pistol, bullets, mobile phones and levy receipts.
West Singhbhum SP Ashutosh Shekhar said that Bandgaon police station had received information that two bodies were lying near the Phuljhari river. When the police identified both the bodies, both were found to be associated with PLFI. Both have a criminal history and both the militants died in the fight between the two factions.
Parvel Sandi Purti had three criminal cases registered against him in Bandgaon police station. Two cases were registered against Aashiq Tanti alias Gultu in Bandgaon police station.

The SP said that the case is related to the internal dispute of the PLFI organization. Police are investigating the whole case and a search operation is going on in the area.
A country-made pistol (with magazine), one live bullet of pistol, two bullets of .12 bore, three mobile phones, PLFI levy receipt, a black coloured backpack, Rs 402 cash and other material were recovered from the spot.
