The Special Crime Wing of the Crime Branch, Jammu and Kashmir, has filed a chargesheet against three individuals in a multi-lakh job fraud case. The chargesheet was submitted in FIR No. 09/2019 under Sections 201, 419, 420, 468, 471, and 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) against three accused.
The accused have been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Khan of Maloora, Shalteng, Srinagar; Showkat Ahmad Shah of Shanzipora, Handwara; and Owais Ahmad Rather of Shalteng, Khwaja Bagh.
According to investigators, residents of Pulwama lodged a complaint alleging that the accused duped them of lakhs of rupees by promising government jobs for their children and relatives.
The accused allegedly acted in criminal conspiracy, impersonated influential officials, and issued fake appointment orders purportedly from the Forest Department.
Investigations revealed that the documents were forged. The accused allegedly received large amounts of cash from victims under the pretext of securing “backdoor entry” into government service. The chargesheet (challan) has been presented before the competent court for further judicial proceedings.
The Crime Branch has urged the public to remain vigilant against such job frauds and report any suspicious activities to the SSP, Special Crime Wing Kashmir, or through the department’s official email.
