Amid the chaos and fear following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, a Muslim driver from Kashmir has emerged as a symbol of compassion and humanity. Aadil, the driver, offered shelter, food, and safety to a group of stranded tourists, drawing widespread praise for his selfless act.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Aadil could be seen hosting the tourists in his home. His gesture came at a time of tragedy, as tourists rushed to leave the Valley following the attack that left at least 28 people dead, including foreign nationals.
“We don’t support such actions,” Aadil said in the video, referring to the militant attack. “Kashmir’s economy will suffer — from the smallest vendors to large hotel owners. Humanity is ashamed because of a few people.”
The stranded tourists expressed gratitude to Aadil, thanking him for his generosity and the care he provided during a moment of crisis.
The terror attack, claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, targeted a group of tourists in the scenic Baisaran Valley area of Pahalgam. The incident has been described as one of the worst civilian attacks in the region since 2019.
Following the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned early from his Saudi Arabia visit and held an emergency meeting with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. A massive anti-terror operation is currently underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
