Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the latest cloudburst and landslide incidents in Reasi and Ramban, which left 11 people dead, while one more person remains missing.

A total of 125 people have been killed in rain-related incidents across Jammu and Kashmir since August 14. Authorities have issued 15-day weather advisory across the UT, warning of possible heavy rainfall, cloudbursts in higher reaches, and flash flooding in low-lying areas.

Sinha, in a post on X, said he had been in touch with senior officials to assess the situation and assured that all possible assistance was being provided to those affected.

In Reasi district’s Bhadder village of Mahore tehsil, a landslide early in the morning buried a residential house, trapping seven family members. Rescue and relief teams, including police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), were quickly dispatched to the site, and all seven bodies were recovered from the debris, they said.

In Ramban district’s Rajgarh tehsil, a cloudburst triggered flash floods that resulted in four deaths, while one person remains missing. Search and rescue operations were ongoing to trace the missing persons, officials said.

Officials said both incidents caused property damage and disrupted normal life in the affected and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, the rescue and relief operation to trace the missing 34 persons in Kishtwar entered its 16th day on Saturday.
