Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma carried out a surprise inspection at Sarabha Nagar police station and the cyber cell on Friday to ensure that duty protocols were being strictly followed and to reinforce public service standards.
During the visit, he thoroughly examined several key operational areas, including the outreach centre, lock-ups, help desk, complaint cell, wireless room, the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) room, district forensic laboratory, and the Station House Officer's (SHO) office.
An official statement noted that Sharma found several two-wheelers improperly parked and storage areas cluttered, prompting him to issue immediate instructions for better organisation and disposal of such items.
He also reviewed personnel records and directed improvements in process management to enhance overall efficiency within the station.
Commenting on the visit, Sharma said that these inspections were part of his ongoing efforts to assess ground-level operations, identify areas needing improvement, and reaffirm the police department's commitment to public welfare.
He emphasised that particular focus is being placed on intensifying the crackdown on drug-related offences and gang activities to ensure Ludhiana remains safe. He added that such surprise visits would be a regular feature moving forward.
