The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a major recruitment drive for its police force. Over the next three years, 22,500 entry-level posts will be filled. This decision, announced by an official on Tuesday, is aimed at improving law and order and preparing for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2028.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that a new Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board will be established to handle the hiring process.

While the Staff Selection Board will manage the recruitment for 2025, the new police board will take over from 2026 onwards. The plan is to recruit 7,500 personnel each year, for a total of 22,500 over three years.

To expedite the modernisation and recruitment process, a joint meeting of the Home and Finance Departments will be held soon. All pending cases related to the Home Department will be resolved during this meeting.
Yadav also announced new benefits for police personnel. An additional seat will be reserved in all graduate-level courses for the widows and children of martyrs from the police, jail, and home guard departments. Furthermore, special and risk allowances will be provided to eligible deputy superintendents of police and senior officers, including those on VVIP duty. The Chief Minister believes these measures will improve the department’s functioning and boost the morale of its staff.
