Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday heard Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme after paying floral tributes to Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Deen Dayal Upadhyay in Gurugram, an official said.
Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh was also present on the occasion. Saini later attended the Jan Aakrosh Mahila Sammelan, the official added.
As per an official statement, Saini said the main objective of Mann Ki Baat is to strengthen communication with citizens. Through the programme, the prime minister discusses social, economic and cultural issues every month. He said it helps convey government policies and initiatives to people while also understanding public feedback.
He said Mann Ki Baat has become a strong medium of communication between the prime minister and the public. He added that the programme gives direction to ideas and encourages citizens to move forward with a sense of development, service and responsibility.
He further said inspiring stories of social initiatives, innovations and public participation from across the country are shared through the programme. These stories spread positivity in society and promote harmony among people. He added that the programme particularly motivates the youth towards innovation, self-reliance and nation-building.
