In a shocking incident in Maynaguri, Jalpaiguri district, a man allegedly murdered his wife, dismembered her body and roamed around with her heart and other organs in a bag. The incident took place on Friday morning in the Bankkandi area near Maynaguri town. Police have identified the accused as Ramesh Roy, a local resident, who is currently absconding.
According to local sources, Ramesh allegedly hacked his wife, Deepali (45), to death with a sharp weapon at their residence. “He then cut up her body and stuffed parts into a bag. Witnesses claimed that he went door to door in the locality, showing his wife’s organs to shocked neighbors,” said a police officer.
Local resident Bablu Roy recounted, “This morning, Ramesh was roaming around with a bag. He went to a house and showed his wife’s heart from inside the bag. Then a local person informed me. I went to his house to see whether his wife was okay. That’s when I saw blood on the bed. Then I informed the head to inform the police. Ramesh must have killed his wife.”
