The MeT centre in Srinagar has issued a yellow alert in Kashmir for Thursday in the wake of the ongoing wet spell.
It said predicting a cycle of intermittent spells of light to moderate rain with forecasts of snow at many places in the Valley.
As per the weather department, intermittent rainfall was recorded in the last three days from March 10, while the same weather conditions are expected to continue till March 16.
The yellow alert was issued for several weather stations for Thursday, expecting intermittent light to moderate rain and snow at most places.
Director MeT, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, said that intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and snow in higher reaches at many places are expected to continue till March 15.
He added that intermittent light rain and snow are expected on March 16 at a few places towards the morning & improvement towards the afternoon.
Furthermore, he said the weather in Jammu and Kashmir would remain dry from March 17 to 21.

Meanwhile, it has also issued advice to travellers, tourists and transporters to follow administration and traffic advisories.
Additionally, farmers have been informed to suspend all farming-related activities till 16th March. “Avoid sloppy & avalanche-prone areas. Landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones are expected at vulnerable spots,” the advisory reads.
