Himachal Pradesh Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Monday visited Boh Panchayat in Shahpur Assembly constituency and met families affected by the recent calamity.
The minister enquired about the well-being of the affected families and listened to their problems and demands. He assured them that the state government stood firmly with them and would provide all possible assistance during the difficult time. Singh also provided financial assistance to all 16 affected families on behalf of the Raja Virbhadra Singh Foundation.
He said supporting disaster-hit families and keeping their morale high was the government's top priority. He also directed officials to release Rs 1 crore through the Public Works Department for the Boh Ki Sadak.
The minister asked administrative and departmental officials to act promptly on the demands of the affected families and speed up relief and rehabilitation work. He said eligible families should receive government assistance without delay and that there should be no lapses in the rehabilitation process.
Earlier, Singh inspected the damaged bridge over Chambi Khad in the Shahpur Assembly constituency. He reviewed the condition of the bridge and sought details from Public Works Department officials about the progress of reconstruction and the proposed action plan.
During the inspection, the minister directed officials to expedite the reconstruction work on the bridge.
