Ludhiana West’s newly-elected MLA, Sanjeev Arora, was administered oath by Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Saturday in the presence of AAP state President, Aman Arora, Finance Minister, Harpal Cheema, and in-charge of party affairs in Punjab, Manish Sisodia.
However, conspicuous by his absence was Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann despite his presence being confirmed earlier by the government.

Arora, who was earlier a member of the Rajya Sabha from Punjab, and won the June 19 bypoll by a margin of 10,637 votes, said that he would work for the welfare of the people.
Arora wasn’t immediately inducted in the Cabinet despite AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal’s campaign claims. When asked why he hadn’t yet been inducted, the MLA said he believed in taking one step at a time.
Arora was accompanied by his family and close friends, including industrialist Kamal Oswal.
On Tuesday, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann had also announced that Arora would be inducted in the Council of Ministers by Friday or Saturday. But, with Governor Gulab Chand Katari proceeding to Udaipur until July 2, the Cabinet’s expansion stands postponed.
