The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday cleared the Data Consolidation Scheme under the Planning, Economic and Statistics Department, which will facilitate policy making and ensure transparency and accountability. The decision was made at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
"The cabinet sanctioned the Data Consolidation Scheme to enable data to be made available for use of departments, common people and planners through collection and analysis of statistical data in a timely manner under the Planning, Economic and Statistics Department as part of new initiative 'Prosperity through Statistics'," said an official.
The scheme would enable the government to make informed decisions and formulate policies based on data, he added.
"All the departments will be able to exchange data without any obstacle, which will result in transparency of work and greater efficiency of workers," the official said.
