Sand mafia attack members attack forest team, flees with seized tractor in Madhya Pradesh's, Morena.

In a shocking display of defiance by the sand mafia in Madhya Pradesh’s Ambah, a group of miscreants attacked a forest department team and forcibly reclaimed a seized tractor before fleeing the scene.

The incident unfolded when forest officials intercepted a tractor-trolley illegally loaded with sand from the Chambal River near Bareh. In a premeditated move, the mafia members threw a motorcycle in front of the tractor to halt it, then launched an attack on the officials, overpowering them to take back the impounded vehicle.

Ambah Forest Range Officer Veer Kumar Tirkey, accompanied by two SAF personnel and other staff, was patrolling Morena when they spotted the sand-laden tractor-trolley.

As they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver deliberately overturned the trolley, bringing it to a halt. The officials quickly recorded the vehicle’s number and proceeded to seize the tractor’s engine. While they were transporting the seized part to Ambah, a group of nine unidentified individuals arrived on three motorcycles, determined to stop them.

The attackers strategically threw their bikes onto the road to create a blockade and then began hurling abuses and issuing threats to intimidate the officials.

As tensions escalated, the forest team attempted to defend themselves with their batons, but one of the assailants issued a chilling warning, stating, "If you hit us, we will shoot you."

Seizing the moment, the miscreants overpowered the officials, reclaimed the seized tractor, and fled from the scene. The entire episode was captured in photos and videos by the forest team, providing crucial evidence of the attack.

SDO Bhura Gaikwad of the Forest Department confirmed that a formal complaint had been registered at Ambah police station, and an investigation is now underway to apprehend the culprits.
