Affidavits submitted to the returning officer for the Jammu and Kashmir Budgam assembly by-elections revealed that National Conference-nominated Al-Mousavi is the wealthiest among the contenders, with declared assets worth Rs 14.31 crore.
His rival, representing PDP, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, reported the lowest assets, with just Rs 2.37 lakh in bank balance.
As per Aga Mehmood’s affidavit, his assets include Rs 28.02 lakh in movable property and Rs 23.58 lakh for his spouse, along with immovable assets worth Rs 15 crore comprising agricultural, commercial, and residential properties in Budgam.
Following closely is Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party candidate Mukhtar Ahmad Dar with declared total assets worth Rs 9 crores and liabilities of Rs 6.59 crore, giving him a net worth of approximately Rs 2.37 crore.

Dar’s total annual income stands at Rs 13.55 lakh and has one criminal case pending against his name for duping a foreign businessman based in Dubai.
Besides, Independent Muntazir Mohi Ud Din, a former member of the Apni Party, declared movable assets worth Rs 95,000 and immovable assets valued at Rs 1.88 crore, mostly inherited. He has no liabilities and reports pension as his only source of income.
Independent Nazir Ahmad Khan, contesting for the seat, is a former DDC Chairman of Budgam and declared his total net worth to be Rs 1.35 crore.
Meanwhile, Parvez Ahmad Mir of the Republican Party of India, an IT professional, declared a total net worth of Rs 1.03 crore, including movable assets of Rs 25.11 lakh and immovable property valued at over Rs 1 crore.
