Nepal has intensified its efforts to locate 17 of its citizens who went missing after devastating floods swept through parts of Uttarakhand. In a heartfelt plea, Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli urged the Indian government to do everything possible to help find the missing workers.
Oli, who just returned from Turkmenistan, expressed his condolences on Facebook for the lives lost and damage caused by the flood. According to local authorities, 15 of the missing are from Nepal’s Jajarkot district and four from Bardiya.
As rescue operations continue amid challenging conditions, the fate of the 17 Nepalis remains uncertain. The government of Nepal is closely coordinating with Indian and the local authorities, while families back home anxiously await any news of their loved ones.
