The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted searches at 12 locations in Jammu in connection with an ongoing investigation into terrorist infiltration from across the border.
The raids, carried out in coordination with local police and security forces, were based on specific intelligence inputs, officials confirmed.
The searches targeted hideouts of overground workers (OGWs) and hybrid terrorists, alongside premises of suspected sympathisers and members of militant networks operating in the region.
The case (RC-04/2024/NIA/JMU) was registered by the agency on 24 October following directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
It was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding the infiltration of active terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed into Indian territory via the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC).

According to the NIA, these infiltrations were allegedly facilitated by local OGWs and terror associates who provided logistical support, including shelter, food, and financial assistance.
The agency suspects that several villages in the Jammu region have served as crucial operational bases for these networks.
Officials confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, with further action expected based on findings from Tuesday’s searches.
The NIA had previously conducted similar raids in November last year in connection with the case, during which incriminating documents and digital evidence were seized from the premises of suspects.
