One person died on the spot and 25 others were injured after a bus overturned in the Bangana area of Himachal Pradesh’s Una district, police said on Wednesday.
The accident occurred around 10 pm on Tuesday. The bus was carrying devotees from Jalandhar in Punjab and was heading to Shah Talai in Bilaspur district after a visit to Peer Nigah in Amb.
The deceased was a devotee from Phagwara in Punjab. His identity has not been officially disclosed yet. Nearly 25 devotees suffered injuries in the accident. One of them sustained a fracture in the leg, police said.
Local administration officials and police teams reached the spot soon after the incident. They began relief and rescue work and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Thakur said the injured have been admitted to a hospital in Thanakalan and the regional hospital in Una. He added that the exact cause of the accident is being investigated.
